Selection begins with representative products and packaging, the intended code, the actual coding position and the condition of the surface at the point of print. Cold, wet, dusty, coated or variable packs should be identified before a technology is shortlisted.
Line speed, product pitch, guides, sensing, encoder requirements, available space, electrical interfaces and downstream handling are reviewed so the printer can be mounted and triggered consistently.
Where suitability depends on adhesion, dry time, barcode quality or product handling, the acceptance method should be agreed using production-grade samples. Final model data belongs in the quotation, manual and approved test record.
