What the LU-IIP550 is designed to do

The LU-IIP550 is a conveyor-mounted inkjet system with touchscreen recipe selection and sensor-triggered printing. Its print height can be configured through different head formats or multiple heads, making it a distinct route from the compact LU-DC127 and the single-head LU-IIP600-B retrofit package.

  • Date, counter, batch, lot, logo, image, barcode and QR-code printing on suitable packs.
  • Bottle, coated label, carton, metal, glass and other approved substrate applications.
  • Single-head coding where a compact message is required.
  • Multi-head coding where a taller print area or more than one coding position is justified.

Control7-inch touchscreen with recipe selection and sensor-triggered printing.
Print contentText, date, counters, batch or lot number, logos, images, barcodes and QR codes.
ResolutionUp to approximately 300 × 300 dpi, dependent on speed, printhead and substrate.
Applicable surfacesSuitable inks are available for many plastics, metals, glass, coated labels, cardboard and other surfaces. Final ink selection requires substrate trials.
Print heightApproximately 2–152.4 mm depending on the type and number of printheads selected.
Print distanceReference stand-off approximately 2–5 mm.
Cartridge / heads12.7 mm or 25.4 mm cartridge formats; a one-head configuration is the normal quotation starting point unless otherwise agreed.
Reference print speedUp to approximately 120 m/min. This is print-system capability and is not the guaranteed integrated line speed.
Reference conveyor sizeApproximately 1450 × 194 mm where supplied as a conveyor-mounted system.
Reference overall sizeApproximately 1460 × 500 × 1100 mm for the quoted conveyor arrangement.
ConsumablesInk cartridges and ongoing print consumables are excluded from the equipment price unless specifically included.
Final checksConfirm head count, message layout, actual line speed, substrate, ink, print gap, sensor position, guide arrangement, code verification and safe access.

How to confirm LU-IIP550 suitability

Define why multiple heads are required

A taller print area, two pack faces or several lanes are different design problems. State the exact message, head position and trigger requirement so the controller and mounting arrangement can be configured correctly.

Separate printer speed from line output

The 120 m/min reference is a print-system capability. Product pitch, acceleration, message density, resolution, head count, sensor delay and required inspection result determine the accepted production rate.

Confirm data and code quality

For barcodes or QR codes, define the symbology, data source, minimum module size, quiet zone, reader or verifier, reject response and retained record. Do not approve the printer from a visually clean text sample alone.

Send representative packs and the longest production message.
Include the line speed, product pitch, coding position, environment, inspection requirement and a short line video.

Buyer questions

Questions buyers ask about LU-IIP550

Why would the LU-IIP550 use more than one printhead?

Multiple heads may be used to create a taller combined print, code more than one pack face or serve separate lanes. Each route needs its own head order, mounting, triggering and fault-response design.

Is 152.4 mm print height available from one head?

No such assumption should be made. The quoted range depends on the type and number of printheads selected. Lancing must confirm the exact head configuration and usable print area in writing.

Can the LU-IIP550 print on coated labels and glass?

The reference application list includes coated labels, glass and several other surfaces, but the cartridge chemistry, drying time, contrast and handling resistance must be proven on production samples.

Can the LU-IIP550 print variable data from another system?

The controller is suitable for recipe-based variable coding, but any PLC, database, ERP or MES interface requires a defined protocol, field map, validation, queue behaviour and failure response in the final scope.
